Babati Urban Constituency faces a myriad of problems which can only be solved by the Tanzania Labour Party (TLP), according to TLPs candidate for the seat.
Elisius Mandela said at a campaign meeting in Babati Township on Saturday that Babati residents should elect him in the October 30 elections if they wanted to see real development in the area.
Babati is still very backward over 40 years after Tanzania gained independence. This is because the responsibility of developing the area and improving the electorates welfare has been entrusted on people who are not genuinely concerned about your plight, he told the crowd.
Mandela gave the example of Babati District Hospital which, he said, had fallen into a shockingstate of disrepair after being neglected for years.
This happens to be the biggest hospital in Babati District and yet it doesnt have a mortuary and neither does it have a perimeter wall around it.The quality of service offered at the hospital also leaves a lot to be desired. This is unacceptable.
Mandela said he would also improve social services in the area if he won the seat next month.
There are too many problems in this constituency and you should give us the chance to solve them…CCM has clearly failed. Vote for me and I assure you that you will not regret it if I become your next MP, the TLP candidate said.
Mandela is up against the immediate former area MP Omar Shaaban Kwaangw of CCM and CUFs Ali Mchana.
