President Jakaya Kikwete yesterday received the credentials of the new Palestine Ambassador to Tanzania, Yousef Talal Habbab.
Speaking at the occasion held at the State House, President Kikwete said Tanzania would continue supporting Palestine efforts in their liberation struggle.
We will not change our stand to support your efforts to fight for your independence and secured borders of your country,said the President.
Their discussion with the Palestine Ambassador, who is the first to be so accredited since President Kikwete came into power, touched on the political situation in the countries of the Middle East.
The President said the relationship between the two countries has continued to be good and that it should be further developed through co-operating in other areas of economy and trade.
On his part Ambassador Habbab, who replaces Ambassador Fariz Mehdawi who finished his term a few weeks ago, said he was gratified to be working in Tanzania and that he would do everything possible to develop the good relationship between the two countries.
He said Palestine would not forget the support Tanzania had been providing in its liberation struggle.
