NOLA says new govt set up will increase efficiency

The National Organisation for Legal Assistance (Nola) has expressed optimism on increased efficiency within the government departments following restructuring and formation of the new ministries.

’We have been particularly touched with the changes made in the Ministry of Labour, Youth Development and Sport, which has been eased with some of its previous duties, which has been restructured as the Ministry for Labour, Employment and Youth Development,’ says a statement signed by NOLA Executive Director, Clement Mashamba.

Commending President Jakaya Kikwete for adjustments made to assign the Ministry with two Deputy Ministers to deal with employment and youth development respectively, NOLA expressed confidence the initiative would pay off.

’As an organisation concerned with the promotion of human and legal rights, we have been receiving a huge number of claims concerning labour and employment issues, of which through studies and research activities conducted in the regions where our centres are based, partly emerged mainly due to poor implementation of policies and laws concerned with matters of labour and employment,’ says the release.

The organisation says matters related to labour such as employment and youth development should run simultaneously with MKUKUTA, (The national poverty reduction strategy) under the two deputies.
