It was a boon yesterday for five customers of the cellular phone company, Vodacom Tanzania after they received 25m/-, which they had won in a promotional drive dubbed VodaMoto Xplosive offer.

The company handed the lucky winners each 5m/- cheque at a colourful ceremony held in Dar es Salaam in the presence of media and other invited guests.

The final prizes marked the end of the promotion, which had kicked off mid last November and ended last December.

Vodacom Marketing Manager Ephraim Mafuru presented the cheque to the five.

The following were the lucky winners - Zuheri Suleiman Msangula from Dodoma; Sylivester Peter Mushi and Humphery Makundi (both from Dar es Salaam).

The others were Anna Mallya from Arusha and Anna Alexander from Mbeya.

’I congratulate you,’Mafuru told the five as he expressed his faith the amount was going to go along way in assisting them.

He said his company was grateful to customers for supporting the promotion.

’The promotion was a huge success,’ he said.

In the promotion, vodacom’s customers under Vodacom Taarifa tariff were given a chance to win cash and airtime prizes totalling over 40m/-.

The promotion saw 90 customers win 4.5m/- in weekly airtime prizes while 24 customers won 12m/- in weekly cash prizes apart from the final customers who won 25m/- in the grand draw.
