12 die in Lake Victoria disaster

Twelve people are feared dead after a boat they were travelling in capsized on Lake Victoria at Kasenyi in Bukoba District.
A body of one of the passengers was recovered yesterday evening. A search to recover the rest was still going on.
Kagera Regional Police Commander Ignas Mbinga said the accident occurred on Wednesday night.
The boat was travelling from Sengerema to Ikuza Island with 14 traders on board.
Mbinga said the boat was hit by a storm before it capsized, killing 12.
