Regional secretaries’ new lineup

To consolidate his government further, President Jakaya Kikwete has appointed six new regional administrative secretaries (RAS) and reshuffled eight others.

Seven RAS retain their positions at their work stations while three of them have retired.

According to a statement issued by State House in Dar es Salaam yesterday, Bertha Swai – a new comer, has been appointed Dar es Salaam RAS.

She replaces Elisata Kwayu, who has been appointed Executive Secretary of Empowerment Council.

Other newly appointed RAS include - Benard Nzungu (Iringa), who has replaced Cecilia S. Shirima, who has retired.

On the list of new appointments also are: Elisifa E. M.

Mollel Mafole (Lindi), replacing Daudi Salim Mfwangavo, who has retired; M.C. Rugaimukamu Rubunga (Mara), replacing Paul O. Chikira who has also retired, Innocent Mwenda (Rukwa), Godfrey S. Ngeleya (Morogoro).

The President has transferred Nuru Khalfani Mrisho Milao from Shinyanga to Arusha; Zawadiel B. Mchome from Singida to Dodoma; Peter Bombo Barie from Tabora Kagera and Haji M. Kachechele from Rukwa to Mtwara.

Yahaya Fadhili has been transferred to Mwanza from Mtwara, replacing Clemence Martin Rutaihwa, who has retired.

Joshua K. Kileo, who has been transferred from Arusha to Shinyanga, Dynes G. Senyagwa from Dodoma to Singinda, Seif H. Hussein from Kagera to Tabora
RAS who remain in their former work stations are - Martin Odilo Ngongolwa of Kigoma, Ndeshikurwa A.

Sumari of Kilimanjaro, Phineas Lekeiy of Manyara, Assumpta Florence Ndimbo of Mbeya, Getrude Mpaka (Coast Region), Freddy Rashid Mwaisaka (Ruvuma), and Paul A.M Chikira (Tanga).

The RAS who have officially retired are: Cecilia S. Shirima (Iringa), Clemence Martin Rutaihwa (Mwanza), Daudi Salim Mfwangavo (Morogoro), Jovin Kitambi (Lindi), and Paul O. Chikira (Mara).

Meanwhile, President Kikwete has appointed retired Major General Bakari H. Shaabani as the new director of Disaster Department effective from last Tuesday.

He replaces Bertha O. Swai who has been appointed Dar es Salaam RAS.
