Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office Melkzedeck Sanare has passed away.

Addressing reporters in Dar es Salaam yesterday, Director for Tanzania Information Services Kassim Mpenda said the late Sanare died yesterday at around 5: 00am at Muhimbili National Hospital.

’Death has dealt our nation a blow, following the death of its great civil servant. The late Sanare has been fighting for his life for a long time and died of heart problems,’ he told reporters.

Mpenda said funeral arrangements were going on at the late Sanare’s home in Masaki.

He said last respects would be paid on Monday at 9:00 am at Azania Front Lutheran Church.

According to Mpenda, on the same day at 2pm, the body of the late Sanare would be transported to Arumeru District in Arusha Region.

He said burial would take place on Tuesday May 9,at his home village of Bangata.

Before his appointment as Deputy Permanent Secretary, the late Sanare worked as Commissioner General with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA).
