Kikwete attends mass for late Sanare

  President Jakaya Kikwete pays his last respects to the body of the Late Melkizedeck Sanare yesterday at the Azania Lutheran Church in Dar es Salaam. The late Sanare, who is expected to be buried today at Bangata in Arumeru District, was Deputy Principal Secretary in the PM Office.  
   
President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete yesterday joined Dar es Salaam residents to pay last respects to the former Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Melkizedeck Emmanuel Sanare, who passed away last Friday.

The President, was accompanied by the Vice –President, Dr Ali Mohammed Shein, Prime Minister, Edward Ngoyai Lowassa, several ministers and other high ranking government officials.

The last rites mass for late Sanare took place at Azania Front Lutheran Church at 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. Later the body was taken to Mwalimu Nyerere International airport for transportation to Arusha.

The late Sanare was born in February 27, 1947 at Bangata Village in Arumeru District, Arusha Region.He left behind a widow and three children.

He completed his Primary education in 1957 at Kimandolu Primary school then joined Mringa Middle School in 1958.

For ordinary level education, he joined Old Moshi Secondary School.

He completed A-level education in 1967 at the same school. Later, he joined Nairobi University from 1968 to 1971 for a business degree programme.

In 1977, he joined a post graduate programme in administration at the Arthur D. Little Management Institute and in 1980, he was awarded fellowship at the Chattered Institute of Transport.

He occupied numerous posts, including Planning and Research Officer at the National Business Corporation (STC), the Acting Training Manager of STC, the member of the restructuring Secretariat of STC, the head of the department of servants’ development at the internal business board.

In 1978, Sanare was the participant co-ordinator of the National Transport Corporate’s rehabilitation and improvement project and from 1978 to 1992 he was the chairman and the managing director of the National Transport Corporation (NTC).

From 1992 to 1995, he was the managing director of Air Tanzania Corporation.

From 1995 to 2003, he was Tanzania Revenue Authority’s (TRA) Chief Commissioner.

In 2003 to 2004 he was the Prime Minister’s Business, investment and empowerment advisor.

From 2004 until his death, he was the deputy Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s office.
