Health practitioners have been advised to collect patients’ data to help the government implement its strategies.

Dr Eunice Mmari of Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) made the call when opening a ten-day seminar of Tutunzane Project which brought together health practitioners from six municipalities from Arusha and Dar es Salaam regions on Monday.

The seminar, held at Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) was led by Pathfinder International and involves health supervisors from Arusha and Dar es Salaam regions.

In order to get the correct statistics of patients, health practitioners have to keep the number of patients who get treatment and indicate the type of the disease they were suffering from, she said.

’You have to keep correct statistics in your health centres so that the Government find it easy to put strategies of helping the patients,’ said Dr. Mmari.

She also urged those attending the seminar to put in practice what they are taught and that the facilitators should make a follow up on the issues.

Dr Mmari, urged health supervisors to educate patients on the use of mosquito nets as well as safe and clean water in their daily life.

Earlier, the Pathfinder International Manager, Michael Machaku said Tutunzane Project involves six municipals in the Dar es Salaam and Arusha regions.
