Minister of State in the President’s Office, (Public Service Management).

Hawa Ghasia has challenged the Tanzania Public Service College (TPSC) to ensure that its training equips potential civil servants with skills to cope with globalisation.

Speaking during the college’s third graduation in Dar es Salaam at the weekend, the minister said that training, which focuses on globalisation, would provide the students with the confidence they require upon joining the civil service or the private sector.

’I’m pleased with the college’s plans to collaborate with other international institutions in various training programmes. This will enable students to develop the skills that would enable them to rise to high positions in the government,’ Ghasia said.

She said that, by doing so, it would help turn the college into a college that trains workers with diverse skills to serve the country.

Ghasia told the college to empower students to conduct research to enable the government to prepare policies in line with globalisation challenges.

TPSC chief executive, Nassor said that 489 out of 500 students who enrolled in various courses graduated.

He said some students dropped out after failing to meet course requirements, while others had died.

The students graduated with certificates in secretarial studies, records management, public administration, and diplomas in secretarial studies and records management.
