Kinondoni Municipal Council updated yesterday the list of schools to be closed down, saying a number of them were in the final stages of registration.

The Registrar of Schools in the municipality, Fatuma Mchujuko, said some schools had complied with the registration requirements and would be issued with certificates soon.

As of yesterday, schools that had been confirmed as having registered included Sunrise, Ali Hassan Mwinyi, Logman, Princes Gate, Ali Hassan Mwinyi Elite and Mwambao Oasis.

’’However, students in schools such as Dar International, Hekima Waldoff, Quban Islamic, Imm Nursery, St Helen, Chanano and Drive-In have nothing to fear as their registration is almost complete,’’ Mchujuko said.

She commended the management of schools that had taken the initiative to comply with the requirements.

She reiterated that the municipality is determination to close down schools that had violated registration procedures.
