Poor information communication technology (ICT) among the entrepreneurs is one among the factors that has affected the development of small and medium enterprises (SME’s) in the country.

Most of the SME’s across the country are faced with poor network communication that make them fail to run their business as they cannot get required information at the right time.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam at the weekend, Business Support Manager of Agumba Computers, Simon Nibampa said many enterprises in Tanzania need integrated information systems in order to eradicate information barriers, which exist in the organizations.

’’Information plays a major role in timely, effective and concise decision making,’’ said Nibampa.

He said integration of existing systems into unified information system would help to improve information sharing and unrestricted flexible support of process or workflow.

Nibampa said organisations are now supposed to shift from isolated information system to integrated one because this system has a lot of disadvantages.

He said isolated system of information caused information islands, ineffective decision-making, slow return on investment and high total costs.

He said Agumba Computers commenced business way back in 1994 with a mission to enhance ICT.
