Parents should not be worried about the quality of education their children will get after they are swapped with their counterparts in neighbouring schools following a directive issued by the Prime Minister recently, Temeke Municipal Education Officer, Hassan Kalinga said yesterday in Dar es Salaam.

’’The quality of education offered is the same in all schools in Dar es Salaam,’’ Kalinga said.

He said the operation was on the initials stages where students were being registered according to their dwelling place, and later on they would be transferred to their residences’ nearest schools.

The exercise was being done in collaboration with the schools’ management and local administrative officers.

Kalinga said so far,it has been discovered that Chang’ombe Primary School has about 300 students who reside far away from its location and only as few as 50 to 70,who reside nearby.

On the other side, one of Madenge primary school teacher identified as Batenga said, she appreciates that the government was finally resolving students’ transport woes.

She said students arriving late suffer for it regardless of the distance they have to cover everyday to and from school.

Temeke Municipality has 107 primary schools. About 100 of them are government owned while 7 others are privately owned.
