Well trained and educated employees are in a good position to offer high standard of services to customers.

On the other hand, companies have a role to play in providing access to learning for employees for the betterment of the quality of services.

The remarks were given by the Managing Director of Barclays Bank, Karls Stumke, in Dar es Salaam yesterday during the launch of the bank’s internal learning centre dubbed Barclays University.

”The centre provides learning opportunities by combining the best quality resources available within Barclays Bank,” Stumke said.

He said the Barclays University is a unique learning centre that gives access to staff in the environment that boasts of the latest learning technology.

The bank’s chief assured his staff and their families for the chance to have access in the Barclays University.

Stumke said the bank came up with ideas to establish Barclays University to its staff because they needed learning access and that they had little time to go out for more training.

The learning centre offers various lessons ranging from languages to information technology (IT).

The bank has a total of 160 staff in both Dar es Salaam headquarter and its branches in Arusha and Zanzibar.
