The Prime Minister Edward Lowassa, will open National Beekeepers Show in Dodoma towards the end of the month. Organisers of the event said the exhibition is scheduled for September 28 and 29.

The chairman of the organising committee, Dr Jacob Abraham told the press the exhibition would involve governmental institutions and the private sector.

’’We will have buyers from US, UK and Denmark…. We have also invited our counterparts from Kenya and Uganda,’’ he said.

During the show, stakeholders will exchange ideas as well as explore new market opportunities.
’’Tanzania produce very little honey for export compared to other countries though we have huge potential of producing more,’’ he said.

Dr Abraham said the sector if improved, can create more jobs.
About 200 stakeholders are expected to take part in the exhibition, he said.
