World Innovation Foundation board appoints Chande

The World Innovation Foundation has appointed invites a prominent Tanzanian business person, Sir Andy J Chande to join the foundation’s board of directors.

The charity, which is registered in Switzerland and in the United Kingdom has in its board, outstanding personalities, including Nobel Laureate Dr Jerome Karle, who is its chairman, according to a statement issued in the city over the week end.

Other board members include Swiss industrialist and Board member of Fiat Dr Rolf Jeker, former Under Secretary - General of UN Dr Mostafa Tolba and former Main Board Director of Philips in the Netherlands Professor Kees Bulthuis, says the statement.

The objective of the organisation, inter-alia is to advance for the public benefit innovation of science, to promote and conserve physical and natural environment and to advance education in peace and self-reliance.

Efforts to get Sir Chande to give details on the organisation’s projects could not succeed. His secretary said that he was out of the country and would most probably return next month.
