Egypt has called on Tanzanian agricultural engineers working in the field of land and water development, to apply for expert training courses at the Regional Centre Training and Water Studies ( RCTWS) based in Cairo, Egypt.
The call was made yesterday in Dar es Salaam by the Egyptian embassy attaché, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Fattah, when talking to four Tanzania agricultural engineers, who are heading for Cairo to attend a course on water management and drainage.
The course is sponsored by the Egyptian government.
The three engineers from the Union Ministry of Agriculture are Hamisi Mantungua,Walter Godfrey and Stephen Shubila while the fourth, Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed Mshiti, is from Zanzibar.
He said that Egypt was sponsoring Tanzanian agricultural engineers as a way of contributing friendly support in developing the countrys agricultural sector, because the majority of people depended on agriculture for their daily life.
According to Dr Fattah, after completing the course, Tanzania agricultural engineers will be able to conduct problem analysis and identify factors that constrain farm irrigation and drainage systems performance.
