Simba needs to hold elections

Keenly following the saga at the Simba 0SC, the idea by some members of the club to urge the so called Elders Council to solve their differences amicably before the next years registration season starts augurs logical and well timed.
No team or an institution would be happy to see itself crumbling for no unjustified reasons and for that matter, Laurence Kimeas idea on behalf of the team members to opt for dialogue to bring harmony in the club is to have elected leaders as the constitution states.
Simba is a big and respected club in the country which can not be led by leaders who are not accountable as per constitution and this would mean the club would miss all good players and the ardent followers would be demoralized.
It is pleasing to note that the council of the elders has seen the essence of dialogue and thus scheduled the elections date to be announced next week.
The approach taken by the council secretary-general, Hamis Kilomoni to meet Ilalas Registrar of Sports to discuss the election issues is also timely, after admitting that they have recovered the membership ledger which was missing.
When it comes to the D-Day, all the members whose names have been missing for one reason or another, the stakeholders and the public at large are praying that transparency and accountability should crown the day and only the deserving members are elected.
Those fond of lobbying and using other short-cuts or oiling the hands of the people at the helm should not be given any room to rule.
This is the critical time when other teams with experienced think tanks need to give constructive pieces of ideas and motivate those who were on the verge of decamping to come back to the drawing table and talk.
The only call that is worth reaching the members is that they need to start paying their outstanding annual fees promptly and let nature take its own cause.
Wrangling would never help either in the short or long term and Simba ought to know that the war of words in their house is the jubilation of their rivals and this collectively paints a bad picture to any young team and good players who would dream of joining them.
For those who have been infuriated by the ugly scenes in the club, Simba seems to be telling even the doubting Thomases that it is never too late and slipping doesnt mean falling. The club is coming back to its old glory, a pet of many.
