Two in court for conspiracy to steal

Two Dar es Salaam residents have been charged in court with conspiracy to steal.

A watchman, Issa Makuya, 27, who resides at Mbagala and a shopkeeper Wilma Simali, 30, a resident of Makongo Juu area in the city appeared in Ilala District Magistrate Mwanaisha Chande.

The prosecution, led by Inspector of Police, Simon Maigwa claimed in Court that the accused committed offence at unknown date in December, this year at Narung’ombe.

He told the Court that the accused conspired to break and steal into a premise.

In the second count, the prosecution claimed that the accused broke a store belonging to Victoria Maresho and made away with various commodities worth 32,816,000/-, the property of Mrisho.

He said the accused committed the crime on December 16, this year at Narung’ombe.

Meanwhile, Mbwana Said, 18, a resident of Mburahati, yesterday appeared in the same Court charged with being in unlawful possession of dangerous drugs. He appeared before Magistrate Agnes Mchome.

Assistant Inspector of police Shamila Kilongo told the court that the accused was found in unlawful possession of a packet of cocaine at a date between November 17 and December 19, this year at Mzizima.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded in custody for lack of surety until January 4, next year when the case comes up for mention.

In another case, a resident of Ubungo External who appeared in the same Court was charged with stealing contrary to the law.

The accused appeared before Resident Magistrate Joyce Minde.

The prosecutor alleged in Court that the accused stole a Nokia mobile phone worth 250,000/-, two Samsung phones and five pairs of shoes, all valued at 1,050,000/-, the property of Seif Nassoro.

However, the accused denied the charge and was remanded in custody for lack of surety till January 4, when the case comes up for mention.
