Three people, including a US Embassy worker, died in separate incidents in Dar es Salaam yesterday, police have confirmed.

The Embassy worker, who died is Zuberi Mrungwana, 40.

Speaking to journalists yesterday, the Temeke Regional Police Commander, Emmanuel Kandihabi said that Mrungwana was hit by a Saloon car, whose registration number could not be immediately established as he was driving to Mtoni Mtongani from the city centre.

According to the RPC, Mrungwana died on the way, as he was being rushed to hospital for treatment.

In another incident along Nyerere Road, the regional police chief said, one person yet to be identified was hit by Suzuki Escoudo car and died on the spot.

In the third incident, the RPC said a saloon car, whose driver escaped shortly after the accident, knocked and killed one disabled person.

Commander Kandihabi said police were still pursuing the driver.
