Dar es Salaam Road Safety Committee(DRSC) has argued road users including pedestrians to abide by the traffic code and to be careful while using the road during Christmas and New Year festive.

Speaking to reporters Co-chairperson of DRSC Yakob Rajab said some motorists take alcohol and drive especially during Christmas.

”Drivers are required to be careful in this season. They should abide by the laws governing road use and shun driving while drunk,” Rajab said.

He also warned unrully youths who hire commuter buses and trucks to take them to beaches saying legal measures would be taken to those who would be found crammed in lorries.

Rajab called on parents to make sure that their children remain indoors during this festive season.

He said enough police officers would be deployed in different parts of Dar es Salaam to maintain law and order.
