Coca Cola Kwanza has sponsored six centers for orphans in Dar es Salaam to join the rest of the world in celebrating this year’s Christmas occasion.

Frank Manase, the firm’s manager made the presentation of the Christmas gifts to officials from the centres at Slipway Hotel, in Dar es Salaam.

Manase identified the beneficiaries as A Kimara based Orphans centre : Don Bosco, Yatima Trust Fund, Hananasif Kinondoni -Children of God, New Orphans Home Centre based at Magomeni Makuti and Ilala based orphanage Centre : KIWOHEDE.

’’We provided T-shirts, sugar, rice, cooking oil, soap, and beans to those centres to comfort them so that they can feel part of the wider family,’’ he said.

The manager said the firm had decided to donate the food after realizing that many children were struggling to survive on their own in child- headed households, while others have been forced to fend for themselves on the streets.

Elaborating on Coca Cola firm, he said that in celebrating this year’s Christmas occasion, the company has also organised Share The Magic Campaign, a Christmas extravaganza.

During the event, he said, many different groups of Choirs and singers including orphans expressed their talents.

’’We have decide to invite those groups because we want to promote their talent and help them so that they can obtain donor’s support, individuals, or both private and Government support in order to improve their talent, and at the same time produce products that can compete with others,’’ he said.

Share the Magic Campaign was launched on December 15, this year at Slipway and Coco Beach.

Meanwhile, Emanuel Lucas, Supervisor of Hananasif based Orphanage centre hailed Coca Cola for being on the forefront to support both orphans and other people.

’’Orphans take this opportunity to congratulate the Coca Cola firm for their joint efforts in enabling them celebrating Christmas as other people by giving them gifts and other social needs,’’ he said.
