Financial institutions have been requested to give a helping hand to orphaned youths, who may have completed studies and need loans to start business.
Kurasini Children`s Home director Margaret Mkandawile said a number of youths from the institution were already studying at university level.
“After they are done with the studies, we would appreciate if banks could be able to offer them loans to start their own business,” she said.
Addressing the staff of Akiba Commercial Bank, Mkandawile said she was grateful to the institution for going out of way to make children feel loved during the Easter festivities.
On her part, Akiba Commercial Bank Marketing Manager, Juliana Swai said:“Children living under harsh environment need to celebrate Easter like children under parental care. They are part of the society.”
Swai said helping the needy was part of the bank’s social corporate responsibility.
The bank staff donated assorted goods for the children including attires, food and toiletries.
The home takes care of about 95 school children and youths.
