Simba players rest, resume camp May 8

Simba SC will next week begin intensive training for the next stage of the Tanzania Football Association (TFF) Mini League, popularly known as Best Six.

The club`s assistant treasurer, Chano Almas, said yesterday that the team would start training on May 8 at Kinesi grounds in Dar es Salaam.

The team yesterday gave players a one-week break after ending up second in Group B on 10 points, as Ashanti lead the group on 13 points.

Teams which failed to advance into the next stage from the group are Prisons of Mbeya and Police Dodoma, who have five points each.

Police Morogoro have already qualified for the next stage from Group A. The next team to join them were expected to be known last evening after the end of the match between defending champions Yanga and AFC in Arusha.

Teams which have qualified from Group C are JKT Ruvu and Mtibwa Sugar.

The two top teams in the mini league will next year represent Tanzania Mainland in the CAF competitions - Champions League and Confederation Cup.
