BFT replaces boxers, coach

The Tanzania Boxing Federation (BFT) has picked three boxers to replace the ones who failed to report in Mwanza for camping.

The new boxers are Ally Kimwaga, Idd Sukari and Burton Mapunda.
They were picked to replace Rajabu Omary (fly), Hashim Simon (lightwelter) and Maximilian Patrick (superheavy).

TBF president Shaaban Mintanga said yesterday that the body had also appointed coach Akaroly Godfrey to replace Nassoro Michael, who also failed to turn up in Mwanza.

The team has been camping in Mwanza since last month preparing for All Africa Games preliminaries. The games have been schedule for Algeria in July.

Boxers who are in the camp are Hassan Abdallah (fly), Emilian Patrice (bantam), Nasser Mafuru and Idd sukari (feather), Petro Mtagwa (light), Joseph Martin (welter), Godfrey Mbunda (lightheavy) and Amos Godwin (heavy).
