The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) administration is still receiving and analyzing readmission letters submitted by students who wish to resume classes after the strike over stipend last month.
Speaking to The Guardian yesterday the UDSM Public Relations Officer, Julius Sauli, said the administration would be too early for it to give data on the number of students who have not met the nine conditions given for readmission.
Sauli said ``the outcome of who meets the conditions for readmission will be determined upon the completion of the exercise.``
He said the ongoing exercise would come to an end this Saturday, the date set for publishing readmitted students` names in the press.
``Immediately after completing the exercise, we will avail the information to the press`` he pointed out.
Asked what would happen to those who fail to meet the conditions, Sauli said the administration had in an earlier release stipulated what would be the consequences.
Last Friday the UDSM administration extended the deadline for receiving applications for re-admission to Wednesday this week.
The administration had also warned students that it would not be responsible for any letters of application that would be submitted after the deadline.
The public stands between the government and Universities concerning the University students who boycotted classes recently, raised a serious contradiction among Tanzanians.
Most Tanzanians perceive the forty per cent issue in a different way. Some feel it`s under the political sphere rather than the facts on whether the money provided by the Loan Board is enough to fulfill the University students needs in comparison with the actual living costs.
