Vodacom Tanzania will this year sponsor a thematic event that will bring together East African marketing family to share experiences and knowledge in a series of informal gatherings.

Vodacom Tanzania Marketing Managing Executive, Ephraim Mafuru, told reporters in Dar es Salaam yesterday that his company will organise a series of events he called, `Marketers` Night out Forum’ on June 8, this year in the city.

Rejoicing at the privilege to be the first company in Tanzania to host the successful and popular series, Mafuru told reporters: ``This sponsorship is in line with keeping our customers ahead by offering them an opportunity to interact and share their professional experiences in a truly different way``, Mafuru said.

He said the opportunity is rare and exciting as it allows Vodacom to contribute to the growth of marketing as an industry by sharing, exchanging ideas and concepts. It gives them room to learn from EAC colleagues in the industry.

The Chief Executive of Marketing Africa, William Kalombo, who also attended the press conference said: ``Market Night out Forum’ began as a small informal gathering to deliberate on how young executives could build their brands by sharing ideas and experiences in the marketing industry.``

He said: `Over the years, the group grew bigger and we came to realize that there were many more people out there who wanted to join us.``

`Marketing Night out Forum’ has become one of the most anticipated events in the region among marketers and others. In the past, the event was held in Nairobi, Kenya and Kampala Uganda. This time it will be held in Dar es Salaam.

Kalombo said Tanzania `Marketing Night out Forum` enables the business community to network in a relaxed atmosphere and participants to interact, as well as learn from each other.
