CCM`s NEC meets in Dodoma today

President Jakaya Kikwete is expected to chair a two-day meeting of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM)`s National Executive Council (NEC) starting this morning.

A press statement issued by Aggrey Mwanri, CCM`s publicity secretary in Dodoma on Saturday, said the party`s Central Committee (CC) that held a day - long meeting at the weekend set an agenda for the NEC meeting.

`The Central Committee meeting, apart from other things, prepared the agenda for the NEC meeting set for today and tomorrow in Dodoma,` read the statement in part.

Meanwhile, the Central Committee which sat in Dodoma on Saturday appointed eight district secretaries, according to the statement.

Those appointed, with their districts in brackets, are Augustino Erio (Tanga), Charles Mwangala (Liwale), Sospiter Nyogiti (Kahama), Khadija Kusaga (Kigoma Rural), Nelly Kizoka (Mkuranga) and Doto Dugli Sambu (Mbulu).

Others are Ngudu Livingstone Lisinde (Tunduru), Mussa Liliye (Mtwara), and Lydia Gunda (Masasi).

Before their appointment, the newly-appointed district secretaries had been acting in the same capacity.
