The Prime Minister`s wife, Regina Lowassa, has called upon women and well-wishers, in and outside the country, to assist orphans and children living under difficult conditions.

Mama Lowassa made the remarks on Tuesday in Dar es Salaam when she was presenting assorted items for six orphanage centers.

`Our goal in assisting orphans is to make them feel like children with parents. We need to share what we have with the needy. We all have a role to play.` she said.

She said helping orphans will encourage them go to school, but above all will help them enjoy like the rest of the kids.

The Premier`s wife said the assistance targeted centers with children living under difficult conditions and those in need of support.

Friends of Don Bosco executive director, Evance Tegete, hailed the Prime Minister`s wife for the gifts, saying they would be helpful to the children in need.

`Our centre faces problems in treating children because our sponsors no longer provide us with financial assistance to facilitate the attending of children with HIV/Aids,` he said.

The centres that received assistance are Mburahati, Tua Moyo, Dogodogo Centre, Friends of Don Bosco, Nunge and Ibin.

The assorted items included food, treated mosque nets, goats and mats.
