Thirteen people cheated death yesterday after a Tanzania People`s Defence Forces plane crash-landed in the Kizota area of this municipality.
Those on board the ill-fated plane with registration number JW9036 were four members of its crew and nine civilians.
The plane was on its way to Dar es Salaam from Sumbawanga and crashed at 1.20pm.
One of the lucky 13 told PST at the Dodoma regional hospital that the plane might have developed a technical fault before crash-landing.
``I felt a slight tremor and before I knew what was happening we had landed in a maize farm close to a house,`` said the source.
The Acting Regional Medical Officer, Dr Dausen Kimaro, told reporters that nine people were taken to hospital with injuries.
Three of them were admitted ``for further observation`` while the rest were attended to and discharged.
He identified those admitted as Wilfred Kifundo, Mayagani Kanduru and Imabilisi Gasper, all from Dar es Salaam.
``Those attended to and allowed to go home are Flora Bahati and Ahmed Semega from Dodoma, Ernest Ngereza and John Kimera from Dar es Salaam, Leonard Nguyame from Arusha, and Said Haliph from Sumbawanga,`` said Dr Kimaro.
No further details on the mishap were available as went to press, as all those contacted for comment were tight-lipped or simply said they had no information.
