Mrosso Acting Chief Justice

President Jakaya Kikwete has appointed Judge John Aloys Mrosso as acting Chief Justice.
A statement issued yesterday by the Judiciary said Judge Mrosso will be sworn in by President Kikwete this morning at the Chamwino State House in Dodoma.
The outgoing Chief Justice Barnabas Samatta left yesterday for Russia for a five-day official working tour at the invitation of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
He will be in Russia until June 20, from where he will go to India for medical check up.
Samatta will officially retire from office on July 19, this year.
