Dar resident arraigned for assaulting policeman

A resident of Mikocheni in Dar es Salaam was yesterday arraigned for assaulting a police officer who was on duty when trying to rob him of a submachine gun loaded with 30 rounds of ammunitions.

The accused, Dumba Hasani(30) was arraigned before Resident Magistrate Hadija Msongo of Kisutu Resident Magistrate Court.

It was alleged that on June 28, this year at Vingunguti Becco area in Ilala District Dar es Salaam Region, the accused unlawfully blocked the arrest of Hassan Dumisani who was being arrested by F7968 PC Hassan.

The accused is also alleged to have tried to rob the police officer of the submachine gun he was carrying, loaded with 30 rounds.

He pleaded not guilty and the case comes up for mention on July 17, this year.

Meanwhile, in the same court, a resident of Mwanyamala in the city Hida Felician (43) was charged with obtaining 750,000/- by false pretence.

The accused was arraigned before Resident Magistrate Hadija Msongo.

It was alleged that on April 10, this year at Sinza in Kinondoni District the accused did obtain 750,000/- by false pretence from Valence Christopher pretending she would sell him a piece of land in one of the city’s prime areas, Mbezi Beach.

The accused pleaded not guilty and the case comes up for mention on July 17, this year.
