Libya to embark on AU awareness campaigns throughout Africa

The Libyan government has said it would embark on awareness creation campaigns among Africans to ensure that everybody was conscious of the importance of a United African government.
Speaking in Zanzibar, the newly appointed Libyan Ambassador to Tanzania Dr Ahmed Ibrahim el-Ashhab said President Muammar Qadhafi would never hang on his intention to make Africa of dreams and success.
`The country is making efforts to provide awareness among Africans throughout the continent on the significance of a United African government,` he said.
He said that Libya would implement such awareness campaigns through seminars, symposia, and workshops to ensure that every body was conscious of the importance of AU.
`We hope that the proceedings of African Heads of Governments and States in Accra will emphasise the significance of our intention,` he said.
The Libyan ambassador promised to cooperate with the government of Zanzibar in enhancing developmental projects for regional and continental economic goals.
He made the promise yesterday when presenting his credentials to President Amani Abeid Karume, at the State House in Zanzibar.
Dr El-Ashhab said that in whatever situation, the cooperation between Tanzania and Libya needed to be sustained.
`Our government is always conscious of the developmental aspects that Tanzania is looking for including infrastructures, education and other social services,` said the new Libyan ambassador.
He said Libya was aware of the development growth that Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar were undergoing.
`We do not have any doubt to keep our focus on this country.`
