Yanga beat Tusker Kenya to reach final

Yanga booked a place into Tusker Challenge Cup final yesterday after beating Tusker from Kenya 4-2 on penalties in the CCM Kirumba Stadium.

The Jangwani-based team won after converting four spot kicks against two of Tusker following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.

Yanga registered their goal in the 37th minute through Wisdom Ndlovu who headed the ball home following a free kick from winger Amir Maftar.

The Kenyans levelled the score through the substitute Adam Hassan in the 69th minutes.

Yanga scored through Tomas Morris, Amri Kiemba, Fred Mbuna and Wisdom Ndlovu while Credo Mwaipopo missed.

The visitors scored only two penalties through Edward Kanga and Alan Wanga.

Yanga now will play Mtibwa in the final to be played on Saturday at the same ground.

Line-ups:
Yanga: Benjamin Haule, Shadrack Nsajigwa, Amir Maftah, Wisdom Ndlovu, Hamis Yusuph, Credo Mwaipopo, Mrisho Ngasa, Amri Kiemba, Gaudence Mwaikimba, Said Maulid and Abdi Kassim.

Tusker: Joseph Ruto, Ibrahim Chikamba, John Njoroge, James Mlinga, Jafar Oyado, Christian Odola, Abubakar Yusuph, Edward Kanga, Kelvin Omondi, John Keo and Alano Wanga.
