Six for African disabled tourney

Six tennis players will represent Tanzania in the African disabled tennis championship in October in South Africa.

Coach Bahati Mgunda said on Tuesday that 19 players had already started training camp at the TTC Club in Temeke preparing for the continental tourney.

He said six best players in the team would be picked from the squad for the South African championship.

He said players who would win will qualify for the World Championship which will be held in Beijing, China next year.

He said the local body would organize a special competition on Saturday and Sunday to select the best six.

The players who are training are Gasper Shirima, Bernard Anthony, Ezekiel Mgaya, Adili Hashim and Mariam Joseph.

Others are William Kilindo, Yohana Mwila, Hashim Twaha, Zaharani Mwemti, Aziz Mwahikaand and Thomas Kihiyo.

There are also Seif Chambala, Marina Mponji, Salima Hamis, Linda Macha and Basila Njau.
