Manyara hosts Nane Nane Rally

The Nane Nane Rally starts today in Mererani, Manyara Region.
According to a statement released yesterday by the organizers, the championship, which will field 33 drivers, will end tomorrow.
The drivers come from six regions - Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Moshi, Tanga, Arusha and hosts Manyara.
Drivers from Kenya and Uganda have also been invited.
The drivers from Dar es Salaam are Ahmed Huwel, Sameer Nahdi Shanto and Pano Calavrias.
Arusha is represented by Gamdust Hajj, Shawn Miller, Amerjit Dhillon, Bashir Mohammed, Sukhuvinder Singh, Gamshad Hajj, Khalid Kassam, Pritam Gundamali, Issa Majalah, Ali Kasu `Shamsi`, Bakari Kidedea and Daudi Kidawawa.
Tanga drivers are Issa Mohammed, Said Boghoza, Ajay Primam, Alijar Fazal, Utu Nilmar, Aliasger Mohammed, Twalib Khatib, Abdul Mohammed and Nassoro Mohammed `Madevu`.
Saleh Balhabou represents Morogoro.
The two-day event has been sponsored by Arusha’s Tanzanite One and Media Works and has been approved by the International Rally Board (FIA).
The rally is the fourth round of series of the national rally championship.
The first round was staged in Iringa last year, the second round was in Kilimanjaro in March and the third round in Tanga in May.
A special piece of tanzanite jewellery valued at USD 4,000 will be awarded to the winner.
The second winner will stand to get a round-trip, holiday package worth USD 2,500 while the third winner will be given a personal Acer computer set valued at USD1050.
