University student appears in court over earth wire theft

A second year student at the University College of Lands and Architectural Studies (UCLAS), Abel Mwansasu (22) was arraigned in court for allegedly stealing university property worth 1.5m/-.
Mwansasu appeared at the Kawe Primary Court in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday before magistrate Andrea Sekimanga.
Court Clerk Mwanahamisi Badri alleged that the accused stole electricity earth wire worth 1.5m/- property of UCLAS last Friday.
Badri alleged that when police interrogated him, the accused admitted to have stolen the wire claiming that he was financially broke.
However Mwansasu denied the charge in court and was released on bail. The case comes up for mention on August 23, this year.
Meanwhile a resident of Mbezi Juu, Hamida Ally was arraigned in the same court allegedly for stealing a cellular phone worth 45,000/-, the property of Juma Rajabu.
Court Clerk Mwanahamisi Badri told the court that the incident took place on July 27, at Mbezi Juu.
She denied the charge and is out on bail.
