A `nyama choma` roaster from Mbagala Kibondemaji on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, Hamad Salum, has been admitted to Muhimbili National Hospital after he was shot on his left ribs for demanding settlement of a bill from a client.

Salum was shot at a restaurant along Mkunguni Street at Kariakoo in the city recently by one Faudhi Selemani, who had allegedly consumed roasted meat worth 6,500/-.

Briefing journalists, Ilala Region Police Commander Masindoki Masindoki said Salum had demanded 6500/- as payment for meat bites which Selemani and his family had eaten, but was provoked to shoot the meat roaster following disagreement on the amount of the bill.

Masindoki said Selemani and his family fled immediately after the shooting for fear that he had killed him.

While Salum was admitted to MNH police had mounted a manhunt for Selemani, the RPC said.
