Tanzanians in US advised to reckon with home development

The Morogoro Regional Commissioner, Said Kalembo has called on Tanzanians living in the US to reckon with their individual and national development activities back home.

Kalembo made the remarks on arrival in the country from Milwaukee, US, with officials of Morogoro Municipality entourage which comprised its mayor, Prof Romanus Ishengoma, his deputy Amir Nondo, Regional Director Rafael Ndunguru and Municipal Medical Officer, Dr Godfrey Mtey.

The entourage had been in the US on a mission aimed at signing a treaty establishing sisterly relations between Morogoro and Milwaukee.

The treaty was signed on August 3, this year.
In his statement issued to the press in Morogoro, Kalembo had requested Tanzanians living in the US to be good ambassadors of their country and reckon with what was happening back in their country.

Either, he advised them to use the current relations between the two towns as a bridge to assist Tanzania towards enhancement of mutual cooperation between the two sides.

Kalembo also called on the business community in Wisconsin State and Milwaukee to visit Tanzania in order to explore the existing avenues of cooperation in various sectors.

He mentioned such sectors as agriculture, tourism, industry, culture, infrastructure, health, education and exchange of experience.

Moreover, he asked Tanzanians living in the North American country to join forces in various undertakings in order to utilise the social and economic opportunities obtaining there.

“Tanzania’s intention is to maintain beneficial cooperation between the two sides,” stressed Kalembo.
