Four in court over theft of Kibo High School properties

Four Dar es Salaam residents were last week brought to court to answer a charge of stealing 4,084,200/-, being the property of Kibo High School.
Salum Saidi (19) Boniface Wambura (27), Hamis Yusufu Mtukacha (40) and George John (18) appeared in Kinondoni Resident Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Lina Msanga.
The prosecution claimed in court that the accused stole 220 pieces of timber worth 1.1m/-, 54 pieces of steel bar valued at 970,000/-, 54 oil paints plastic containers valued at 340,000/-, and 60 bags of cement worth 675,000/-.
Other stolen items are 40 pieces of conduit pipes worth 64,000/-, 148 pieces of steel binding wire rings valued at 148,000/- and 156 pieces of wood valued at 187,000/-, all valued at 4,084,200/-.
The accused pleaded not guilty. However, with the exception of the second accused, Boniface Wambura who was granted bail, the rest of the quadriple were returned to remand custody for failure to meet bail conditions.
The case was adjourned to November 1, this year when it comes up for another mention.
