Expansion of Tumbi hospital in Kibaha begins next month

Expansion and improvements to Tumbi hospital in Coast region will begin next month following completion of architectural drawings for the project.

The Coast Regional Medical Officer (RMO), Dr Samson Winani said last Thursday that a total of 20m/- has been collected from contribution of various groups and people in Coast region for the expansion and improving the hospital which will become the regional hospital Dr. Winani was speaking during a one day Regional Consultative Committee (RCC) held in Kibaha township in the region.

The RMO said that a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Retired President Ali Hassan Mwinyi and has already opened an account at the National Bank of Commerce (NBC) where the contributions would be deposited.

The account number of the project is Mfuko wa Hospitali, A/c No 011103027324, NBC-Corporate branch, P.O BOX 671511, Dar es Salaam.

In his report on strategic plans to improve health services to the region, Dr Winani who is the Secretary of the Committee, appealed to all people in the region to contribute.

Dr Wanani said that the recent contributions came from members of the committee, workers in the office of the Regional Commissioner, Kibaha Education Centre and Nyumbu.

The six districts, including district councils’ workers of Kibaha rural and urban, Kisarawe, Bagamoyo, Rufiji, Mafia and Mkuranga continue to collect contributions.

The members of the regional consultative committee pledged to cooperate with the committee project to mobilize residents in the region to contribute more funds for the project to be successful.
