Dar es Salaam-based Femina Health Information Project (HIP) has underscored the need to building what it describes as `long term multi-media initiative` aimed at keeping the youth in the country more informed.
The Femina HIP Chairman, Walter Bgoya, said this on Monday at a workshop that the organisation hosted in Dar es Salaam to discuss youth matters.
Bgoya said his organisation has been working hard to empower the society with democratic values, promoting critical thinking and open talks through story telling.
He said HIP provides information on exploring HIV sexuality and healthy lifestyles through performances that aim at educating the youth on various issues, partnership and communication for social change.
`Our approach is to share our media vehicles with partner`s organisations and find ways to collaborate in order to integrate a whole range of ideas and specific messages into our media product,` he added.
He said the workshop brought together various partners of the organisation especially youth for discussions and sharing experiences as well as improving skills and pooling resources.
`We also engage in extensive formative feedback and research to improve and document effects of what we do,` said Byoga, adding that his organisation has attracted attention of partners from other countries, such as South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia and Rwanda.
