By Nsuduki Limbe, PST, Tabora

Two police officers in Tabora region have been sacked and appeared in court early this week for assaulting a State attorney who was attending high court sessions in Nzega township.

According to the Tabora Acting Regional Police commander, David Silas, the two, Cpl Ojukwu Emmanuel and CID Very Joachin both stationed at Nzega, were terminated from service last week after a court marshall found them guilty of indiscipline.

Elaborating, Silas said the accused attacked State attorney, David Zachariah on September 9, this year when he was attending High Court sessions, causing him immense bodily pains.

``Sacking of the two security enforcers would not only serve as a lesson to other officers in the force, but would also enhance the need to maintain discipline in our force countrywide,`` he said.

The two appeared before the Nzega District Court on Tuesday this week and are out on bail to January 15 when the case comes up for mention.

Meanwhile, the police in Tabora Region are looking for people who commandeered a `Fuso` truck with registration number T 277 AHA who also robbed its passengers of 405,000/- in cash and mobile phones, all worth 1.5m/- on Monday, this week at Mwambaha Village in Nzega District.
