Guardian employee lands in court over 5.8m/- theft

An employee with the Guardian Limited has been arraigned in Kisutu Resident Magistrate`s Court in Dar es Salaam for stealing a sum of 5.8m/- from his employer.

Davis Ndangala was arraigned before Resident Magistrate Benedicta Beda.

Prosecutor Hudson Ndusyepo claimed the accused committed the offence on July 11, last year.

However, when he was required by the court to enter his plea to the charge, the accused denied the prosecution version in categorical terms, rendering the court to prepare for a full hearing of the case as would be scheduled.

He was returned to remand custody after he failed to meet bail conditions.

Earlier, the court had ordered him to present two reliable sureties and each to sign a 6m/- bond. The case was adjourned to February 5, this year.

Meanwhile, Zaid Khamis appeared in the same court charged with stealing vehicle spare parts.

According to the prosecution the accused stole spare parts worth 850,000/-, the property of Anjela Mbakila. The offence was committed on January 17, this year.

The accused pleaded not guilty and the case comes up for mention on February 5, this year.
