Names of people suspected to have inflated compensation rates to some Kibamba residents in Dar es Salaam, which Lands and Human Settlements Development minister, John Magufuli enquired last week, are yet to reach police special zone office.

Magufuli directed police in Kinondoni regional police office during his tour of Kibamba to settle a long-standing land dispute to submit names of land officers and other corrupt people linked to scandal for thorough investigation.

Special Zonal commander, Alfred Tibaigana, confirmed in an interview yesterday that he had not received the names from Kinondoni Regional Police Commander, Jamal Rwambow.

When contacted, Rwambow said that the matter was being sorted out at regional level, and hinted that police at Kibamba were studying the list before forwarding it to a higher stage for action.

``The list is still with Kibamba ward police station,`` confirmed Rwambow.

Kibamba residents were ordered out of the area to allow space for the ministry settlement project, but Magufuli intervened over the weekend. He ordered residents to hold on because time given for shifting was too short and inadequate to build houses elsewhere.

The minister stated that before residents are evicted, they should be given three-month notice and a 36-month rent equivalent to help them survive while establishing alternative homes, a process that had been skipped.
