The Presidential task force appointed to make thorough investigations and prepare groundwork for legal action following the presentation of the Bank of Tanzania (BoT) audit report, has got down to business.
A statement issued yesterday the team leader, Attorney General Johnson Mwanyika, said they had received maximum cooperation from members of the public.
``So far, the wananchi have accorded us great cooperation. People have volunteered to give out information on their own free will,`` Mwanyika said.
He said members of the public were still invited to give more clues so that the team could complete its work early enough and in the proper manner.
``The tips will be evaluated to ensure that the truth is extracted and made public,`` he said.
Mwanyika urged the wananchi to remain patient and cooperative and allow the team to perform its work diligently.
He said all information obtained from the members of the public should be channeled through the Police Force and the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB).
He said those willing to volunteer information could contact IGP Mwema Saidi Mwema through his mobile phone number 0754 78557, DCI Robert Manumba (0754 206326), PCCB Director General Edward Hosea (0754 763741) and Deputy PCCB Director General Lilian Mashaka (0754 336116).
He said the tips would back up the Auditor General`s report which they had already started working on.
Soon after rescinding Ballali’s appointment, President Kikwete appointed a task force comprising the Attorney General, Inspector General of Police and the Director of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau to make further investigations intended to facilitate the bringing of all the culprits to justice.
