Resolute constructs classes, donates desks to schools in Nzega

Resolute Tanzania Ltd has constructed classrooms and donated desks to different primary and secondary schools in Nzega District as part of its policy to support the communities where it operates.
A statement issued by the company this week, said the beneficiaries of the donations include Nata Primary School where two classrooms have been built and others rehabilitated.
``We have also received 100 desks and books from this mining company,`` said Katunzai Kiembe, the school head teacher.
The school maintains a deep well drilled by the mining company within the school compound.
Other schools that have received similar support in the district are Nata Secondary School, Iyuki Primary School, Mwangoye Secondary School, Undomo Primary School and Ishinde Primary School.
Nzega District Commissioner Betty Machangu commended the company\'s commitment to boost education and health services in her district.
``Nzega now has about 30 secondary schools up from only one in 1998,`` she said.
The company\'s Social Development Manager, Mariam Mavura said the firm was currently looking for a contractor to build a secondary school at Undomo Village, which is planned to become operational by April.
``We have set aside 45m/- for the construction of three initial classrooms,`` she said adding that construction of another secondary school at Mwaluzwilo Village was in progress and will be opened in May this year.
The company has been in the forefront in the fight against HIV/Aids by providing condoms to anti-HIV/Aids groups in the villages and in educating the public on the right prevention methods.
