Four-wheel vehicle goes to Dar man in Celtel promotion

A Dar es Salaam resident, Michael Joel (28), yesterday was the first winner of a brand new Toyota Rav 4 car in cellphone service provider Celtel`s second phase `Drive your Dream` promotion.
Joel, who works with a clearing and forwarding company in the city, won the new model Toyota Rav 4 car through his mobile phone number 0787560562.
When contacted to be told of the good tidings, Joel said he did not believe he was the winner of a brand new car.
He was called and talked on his cellphone with Celtel marketing manager Constantine Magavilla, and erupted with joy after he was informed that he was the winner.
``I can not believe what has just happened...It`s an experience of a lifetime. This is really a reward. With the little money that I spend on airtime, I now own a Rav 4 car,`` said Joel.
Speaking after the winner was announced, Celtel marketing director Margaret Kositany said 'Drive your Dream 2` promotion was testimony that the mobile phone service provider was serious about making customers` lives better.
``Today we have witnessed the first lucky customer being picked. We are committed to living to our promise,`` said Kositany.
She added that the promotion was point-driven where customers would earn one point for every 500/- spent on talking, sending short messages or surfing the Internet.
During the promotion period, which is up to the end of this year, customers can verify the number of points they have accumulated by sending the word `Points` to number 100.
