The former secretary general of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania, Amani Mwenegoha, has withdrawn his case filed against the head of ELCT, ELCT Trustees, the church’s executive committee and its election commission.

The case was filed following the occurrence of a leadership wrangle in the church.

News of withdrawal was given yesterday by Bishop Alex Malasusa, who said: ``The case has been withdrawn in response to a call I made on November 11, 2007, when I became head of ELCT.``

Bishop Malasusa thanked Mwenegoha for his Christian spirit and prayed for God`s blessings to be showered upon him. ``I also want to thank those who wish the church well and are praying for its continued sound testimony, and peace with both people and God.``
