The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Tanzania plans to hold sensitisation seminars on good governance to people living in rural areas and the Members of Parliament.

APRM Executive Secretary, Prof. Daudi Mukangara, told journalists in Dar es Salaam yesterday that the seminars would be held tomorrow in Dodoma.

``And those at village level will take place between May 6 and 8, this year,`` said Prof. Mukangara.

Prof. Mukangara said the aim of the seminars would be to inform the public on how governance is assessed in the country.

He said APRM had conducted 78 seminars for different stakeholders including the media, leaders for persons with disabilities, political leaders, cooperative union leaders, trade unions, political parties and representatives of civil society organisations.

In the assessment of governance, Prof. Mukangara said, APRM employed desk research special depth studies and perception survey which involves expert panel and household perception surveys.

Household survey would cover over 3000 people through a random sampling methodology, he said.
